Fairy hair is a silk sparkle extension, attached to a single strand of your natural hair to add color and shimmer. It’s made from fine strands of synthetic silk that create a subtle, shimmering effect without damage, and can be styled, washed, and heat-treated just like your own hair.

We carry over 30 color options, ranging from subtle shades that blend with natural hair like auburns, golds, browns, and silvers to bold fashion colors and everything in between.

Our metallic strands reflect light for a sleek shine, while our sparkling options use an iridescent finish to catch and shift light for that signature sparkle.

We use our signature technique, learned from the best of the best & perfected over years of experience, using a tool to weave each strand of fairy hair onto a single strand of your natural hair, with no beads or glue. This allows the fairy hair to move and blend seamlessly with your hair while staying lightweight and comfortable. Each strand remains in place until the natural hair it’s attached to sheds, making it a low-maintenance, long-lasting sparkle option.

That could be a day, a week, a month, several months, or even up to a year. Most adults keep their sparkles anywhere from about six weeks to a few months, with some strands lasting much longer. The more fairy hair you have, the more likely you are to notice it lasting over time. We don’t guarantee a set timeframe since everyone’s hair cycle, lifestyle, and overall health can affect natural shedding.

Fairy hair typically doesn’t last as long in young children (10 and under) due to faster shedding cycles. 

It’s normal for a few strands to fly away within the first day or two, so we always include a few extras on us. 

Fairy hair and hair tinsel are often used interchangeably, but they’re not always the same. Fairy hair typically refers to higher-quality, silk-blend strands that are lightweight, heat-resistant, and designed to move naturally with your hair. 

Lower-grade tinsel can be stiffer, thicker, and less durable when it comes to styling and washing. Not all tinsel is heat safe, and even when it is, it may have lower heat ratings than professional-grade fairy hair. We always recommend proceeding with caution if you’re not getting your fairy hair from Fantasy Flair or one of our trusted fairy friends. Lower-quality strands can burn, melt, and cause discomfort or damage to your hair.

Wash it, brush it, comb it, curl it, flat iron it, color it, bleach it, perm it, blow it dry, get your haircut, etc. 

Fantasy Flair by Er fairy hair is heat safe up to 450° F and safe for MRI's.

This is our home base and the only dedicated fairy hair studio in the immediate area, offering seamless sparkle strands, custom color matching, and a curated, one-of-a-kind studio experience.

We also travel across Florida for regular pop-ups and events, so you can find fairy hair near you even if you’re outside Citrus County. You can catch us at for Cal's Barber & Beauty in Brownwood (typically bi-weekly), Anthony's Ladies Apparel in Colony Plaza every third Wednesday, Elysian Fields monthly, and Wish Boutique on a rotating basis.

For weekly availability, you can find us every Saturday at the Brownwood Hometown Market, located on Meggison Road near Gator's Dockside. We also participate in seasonal and monthly events like Girls Night Out at the Ocala Downtown Market, festivals across The Villages for themed events such as strawberry festival, Mardi Gras, and holiday markets.

We also travel across Florida for privately hosted parties and group bookings, bringing the full fairy hair experience directly to you.

Yes! Fairy hair can absolutely work on thin hair. In fact, many of our regular clients have fine or thinning hair and enjoy beautiful results.

If you have overall thinning or increased shedding, we typically recommend adding a few extra strands. For example, if you were planning on 10 strands, we may suggest 15 to help maintain your sparkle as your hair naturally sheds.

While we can't guarantee how long fairy hair will last, our years of experience have taught us the best placement techniques to maximize longevity for finer hair. Many clients who receive 10 to 15 strands still have a few sparkling strands remaining by their next monthly appointment.

Hair shedding is a normal part of the hair growth cycle, regardless of hair type. If you have thin hair, don't let that stop you from adding a little sparkle to your life!

Yes! Fairy hair can be applied to curly, wavy, and textured hair. Our sparkle strands are designed to work with all hair types and can be customized to complement your natural texture.

Because fairy hair strands are straight and flat when first applied, they may blend into curls and waves more naturally after washing and styling as part of your normal hair routine. For wavy and curly hair, we recommend scrunching or finger-curling your fairy hair strands along with your natural curls to help them take shape. Gentle heat from a blow dryer or the warmth of your hands may also help encourage the strands to blend with your curl pattern.

For tighter curl patterns and coils, fairy hair can still be installed and enjoyed. We recommend gently incorporating the sparkle strand into your natural curl pattern; however, the fairy hair itself may not hold the exact same shape as tighter curls.

Fairy hair can also be incorporated into protective styles, braids, locs, and other creative hairstyles. If you are planning to get braids or a similar style, we recommend reaching out beforehand so we can discuss the best way to incorporate your sparkle strands.

Absolutely! Fairy hair is a fun, safe, and magical experience for kids of all ages.

Children under 10 typically shed their hair faster than adults, so their fairy hair may not last as long. Longevity depends on natural hair growth, texture, tangles, and daily hair care.

Some recommended best practices:

• Brush gently, starting at the ends while holding the hair 's mid-section.
• Keep hair detangled to reduce unnecessary shedding.
• Avoid tugging or plucking the sparkly strands. Since each fairy hair is woven to a single natural hair, pulling on it can accidentally pull out that hair.

Kids can still swim, play sports, bathe, and enjoy all of their normal activities. No matter how long the sparkle lasts, fairy hair is a whimsical experience that kids love!

No, fairy hair does not damage your hair when properly installed. Fantasy Flair Fairy Hair uses high-quality synthetic silk strands that are carefully woven to an individual strand of your natural hair. The fairy hair remains attached until that natural hair strand detaches and naturally sheds from your head. 

Our fairy hair is heat-safe, color-safe, lightweight, and designed to blend seamlessly with your natural hair without causing damage. We use only privately sourced, professional-quality fairy hair that is not available for public purchase.

As with any hair accessory, proper installation and gentle hair care are important for maintaining healthy hair. We cannot speak to the quality or safety of lower-quality, foreign-sourced products that may not use the same materials or installation methods.

Our appointments are available in 10-minute time slots, allowing for 5-10 minutes per 10 strands of hair. When booking, select your arrival time, and our system will automatically set your appointment length based on the number of strands you select at the time of booking.
